Short Bio
Dr. Sofia Vio studied agronomy at the UC in Chile. During her studies She started teaching as a tutor (2008-2009) and since 2010 as an Instructor for lectures, laboratory practices and field trips. In 2013 she started her PhD (Professorship of Fruit Science, TUM) and since 2016 she became part of the teaching Stuff. After finishing her PhD (May 2020) she started working as research and teaching associate at the department of Systematics, Biodiversity and Evolution of Plants (LMU). In April 2021 she started working at ProLehre I Medien und Didaktik as a Consultant for Higher Education.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced training for lecturers through workshops and webinars as well as individual advising and teaching observations
- Advise lecturers in developing and implementing teaching strategies and courses
- Promote a culture of excellent teaching in all TUM departments; determine field-specific needs of lecturers; design and implement courses in higher education teaching
