Free services
We provide most of our services to our lecturers free of charge, for example teaching visits and teaching consultations, support for teaching projects, issuing certificates, supervision of teaching portfolios, use and support of Moodle, access to the New Handbook of University Teaching (campus license).
Chargeable services
As part of an entrepreneurial university, we are only partially funded and therefore have to charge for some of our services in part or in full as a requirement of the University Executive Board.
The costs for video productions usually depend on how much staff we have to deploy (e.g. camera, camera assistant, image mixer, drone pilot, lighting, gimbal operator), where we are deployed, how much effort has to be put into preparation (e.g. set-up) and post-production (e.g. editing, animations, effects). We would be happy to provide you with a cost estimate so that you can estimate the costs you will incur. Our standard rates for orientation:
Filming/live streams in the studio:
- Tariff S: 400€/day for personnel: 1 person (e.g. announcers, lectures)
- Rate L: 800€/day for staff: 3 or more people (e.g. livestream with several cameras)
Filming/livestreams outside the studio:
- Tariff S: 500€/day plus 50 Euro consumption fee for personnel: 1-2 persons
- Tariff L: 900€/day plus 50 Euro consumption fee for personnel: from 3 persons
Additional options:
- Set-up day: 400€
- Additional external cameraman: 500€/day
- Additional drone use: 200€/day
- Audio recordings in the sound booth:
Tariff A: 100€/day for personnel: 1 person (use of sound booth only)
Post-production:
- Tariff P: 500€/day plus license costs for music/sound effects
Additional options:
- Elaborate animations and effects: 200€/day
These prices are for guidance only, lower or higher prices are possible depending on the case. The respective written offer is binding. This price orientation is aimed at university members; external customers who are not members of our university must expect higher prices and pay additional VAT.
Design/layout of print material/online material
- External users: 100 Euro/hour
- Internal university users: 50% discount
This basic rate includes one free correction loop, the working time of which is not included; additional hourly rates will be charged from the second correction loop onwards.
Participation fees for university and media didactic courses for individual lecturers
- External users: 80 Euro/course day
- Internal university users: 50% discount
- For doctoral students, the Graduate School covers a further 50% of the costs, so that doctoral students only have to pay 20 euros/day themselves, the other 20 euros are covered by the Graduate School.
University and media didactic training for chairs and other institutions
- External users: subject to negotiation
- Internal university users: 100 euros/hour (plus travel and accommodation costs)
Cancellation Fees
Cancellations of courses, course participation and video shoots are subject to a cancellation fee, depending on the time of cancellation:
- Cancellation up to 15 days before the start:
No cancellation fee - Cancellation up to 8 days before the start:
Cancellation fee of 50% of the estimated costs - Cancellation 7 days or less before the start:
Cancellation fee amounting to 100% of the estimated costs
The cancellation fee will be waived if a medical certificate is submitted within 14 days of cancellation.
