Programs & Services

Our programs and services in support of teaching and learning are grouped into six areas:

Courses and Certification

Our Competency Model for Higher Education helps you evaluate your teaching ability and consider ways to further and deepen your knowledge and skills. We offer courses, online-seminars, resources and individual consulting in higher education pedagogy and media literacy. You can document your progress and bolster your career outlook by keeping a teaching portfolio and acquiring an accredited certificate.

Teaching Development

We advise and support you in developing your repertoire of teaching and evaluation tools. Whether you would like to improve a traditional, in-class course; to develop a hybrid, blended-learning strategy; or to create a purely online course – for example, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) – you will find a competent and knowledgeable team ready to support you.

Digital Infrastructures

Modern pedagogy in higher education calls for a modern digital infrastructure. We manage Moodle, TUM's online learning platform, as well as coordinate the university's lecture-recording service and electronic assessments. We also facilitate access to external platforms for online courses – such as vhb, edX, and Coursera – among other digital tools to support your teaching.

Media Production

We create high-quality teaching and learning materials with and for you. Teaching videos can be produced on site or in our video studio. We advise and support you in producing podcasts; in drafting scripts and infographics; in designing digital, interactive, multimedia teaching modules (UI/UX); and in recording and producing films of live events.

Study Skills

We offer TUM students workshops, study consulting, and handouts to help them meet the high intellectual demands of a study program. Our electronic "Lerncoach" supports both German and international students in the transition from high school to university. This tool offers learning strategies and supports students in creating individualized study plans and in motivating themselves to meet their goals.

Research and Innovation

Following the latest scientific discoveries and technological trends in teaching and learning, we regularly collaborate with engaged teaching staff to develop pilot projects implementing innovative teaching and learning scenarios. Moreover, we take part in research projects to test the effectiveness of our interventions. We both publish our findings and present them at conferences and in various research groups.

We also offer services that go beyond teaching contexts: Our team from ProLehre | Media Production creates und produces professional videos to support research at TUM along with the university's image and marketing.
